Gifts for the yogi in your life
Welcome to the holiday season, everyone! I’m here today with some gift ideas for the yogi in your life. All my selections can be purchased online, because online shopping is convenient for just about everyone. But I also want to stress the value of shopping locally. If any of the ideas on this list can be purchased locally, go for it!
Jade yoga harmony mat – $39.95
You all know that I love Jade Harmony yoga mats (see my previous post about them). Jade has just come out with a new travel yoga mat called the Voyager, which folds up to about the size of a yoga block. Hello, Santa–I’ve been very good this year! Available from Jadeyoga.com.
Zella Live-In Midi Leggings – $65
Nordstrom’s in-house brand Zella makes the best yoga pants, IMHO. They come in funky colors and styles, like these, as well as basic black. Comfortable, long-lasting, and flattering. Available from Nordstrom.com.
Bronwen Tiny Charm Necklace – $36
A good friend gave me my first Bronwen Tiny Charm, and I love it. These necklaces are sweat, swim, and shower friendly, so you can wear them all the time. Usually I take off my jewelry to practice yoga, because it gets in my way, but my Om necklace is the one thing I can wear. They have lots of designs to choose from—hearts, Om symbol, lotus flower, etc., so you’re sure to find the perfect one.
Halfmoon Silk Yoga Eye Pillow – $24
A silk eye pillow filled with a mix of flax and lavender — ahh, what a nice luxury! These eye pillows are wonderful for savasana, or for anytime you need a soothing relaxation. The silk cover is removable and comes in different colors. From YogaOutlet.com.
Indigo Silk Tunic – $59.95
Sometimes a gal just wants to throw something on over her yoga wear. This beautiful silk tunic is just the thing! From Sivana, this tunic makes an excellent layering piece for those times when you want to dress up your look.
Healing Crystal Candle – $22
All yogis love candles. These hand-poured soy candles contain a hidden crystal, for healing, good luck, or love. Available from Uncommon Goods.
Artwork of Cosmic Dancer Pose – $23.99
Brighten up your decor with yogi artwork! This photographic print is a beautiful image of Dancer’s pose. Available from Art.com, it comes in different sizes, framed or unframed.
She+Sky Sweater Cardigan with Fringe – $49.99
The perfect lightweight cover-up! I purchased mine in Napa, and it was just the right weight for keeping me cozy on the long airline flight home. It can be worn buttoned (as shown) or as a drapey cardigan. From Boho Lifestyle.
Asian Wrap Organic Cotton pajamas – $58
I love these cosy, comfy PJs made from soft organic cotton. I especially love the wrapped neckline, because the shirt-like collars of regular PJs bother me. Available from Garnet Hill.
The Flint Lint Roller – $7.99
I discovered these lint rollers a few months ago. It seems weird to get excited over a lint roller, but these are great because they are retractable. You twist them open, then push to close. The Flint is perfect for travel, or for just carrying around in your yoga bag, so that you can quickly get the lint off your yoga pants. Makes a great stocking stuffer! Available from MeetFlint.com.
Lost Horizon Kira Handwarmers – $39.99
I love these handwarmers from Sahalie. They are 100% wool, but also lined with polyester, so they won’t itch. Also, they are fair trade, and profits go to help support women and children in Nepal. Available at Sahalie.
Moleskine Volant Journals – $9.99
Because everyone needs a new journal for Christmas! I love these Volant journals from Moleskine. Each 3.5 x 5.5 in. book has 80 lined pages, making it just the right size to keep in your bag without adding extra weight. The pages are perforated, just in case you need to tear out a few. It’s a great size for taking along to a weekend workshop or a training. Plus they come in different colors! Available at Staples.
